Paramount Pictures has announced significant shifts in its movie release schedule, pushing back the premiere dates for two eagerly awaited Nickelodeon films: The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2. These changes mean fans will have to wait longer than anticipated to see these cinematic adventures.

According to Variety, the much-anticipated The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender movie, which was originally set to hit theaters on January 30, 2026, will now premiere on October 9, 2026. This delay extends the wait by nearly nine months. This marks the second delay for the film, which was initially slated for October 10, 2025. No specific reason for the postponement has been disclosed, but the confirmed voice cast, including Steven Yeun, Dave Bautista, and Eric Nam, remains attached to the project. The film, set to be the first of a planned trilogy, will explore the story of the original Avatar protagonist many years after the series concluded. The movie received its official title at last month's CinemaCon.

Similarly, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 has also been delayed. Announced shortly before the first film's premiere in 2023, the sequel was initially scheduled for October 9, 2026, but has now been rescheduled to September 17, 2027. This delay extends the wait by nearly a year, leaving fans curious about the continuation of Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo's adventures and the payoff of the first film's tantalizing mid-credits scene. While plot and cast details remain under wraps, fans can enjoy the Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series in the interim.
