For fans of automobile simulators, January 16, 2025, marks a historic day. Kunos Simulazioni Studios is set to release Assetto Corsa EVO on Steam early access, promising an exhilarating experience for racing enthusiasts. At launch, players will dive into a world featuring 20 meticulously detailed cars and 5 iconic tracks: Imola, Brands Hatch, Bathurst, Laguna Seca, and Suzuka. Despite its early access status, the developers assure players of already impressive physics, control, and realistic car behavior.
One of the game's standout features will be the free-ride mode, offering players an expansive playground to explore. A significant update scheduled for the summer of 2025 will introduce roads surrounding the legendary Nürburgring track. This fully laser-scanned open world will span up to 1600 square kilometers and is planned for gradual expansion.
Assetto Corsa EVO aspires to be the premier car simulator, challenging industry giants like Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport. It boasts photorealistic graphics and advanced physics. At its debut, the game will feature 100 vehicles and 15 tracks, with more to be added through future free upgrades. Every circuit will mirror real-world conditions, such as rolling tires or wet pavement, and animated spectators will enhance the realism of the experience.
The developers have also refined the dynamics of the automobiles, including suspension damping and shock absorption. The Driving Academy mode will be available from the start, allowing players to tackle the aforementioned tracks within specific time limits. This mode, designed as a single-player activity during Early Access, aims to help players earn a license that unlocks access to the game's top-tier cars.
