Camper Awaits Switch 2 at San Francisco Nintendo Store Before Opening

The excitement for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 is palpable, with fans going to great lengths to secure their consoles. In San Francisco, the soon-to-open Nintendo Store has already attracted its first camper, YouTuber Super Cafe. In a video released on April 8, Super Cafe documented his journey, flying over 800 miles to camp out not only for the anticipated release of the Nintendo Switch 2 but also for the grand opening of the store itself, scheduled for May 15.

Despite having recently moved into a new apartment, Super Cafe humorously admitted that his decision to camp out might not be the wisest financially, but his enthusiasm for being the first in line on the West Coast remains undeterred. "I've only lived in my apartment for two months. I like, just moved out," he said. "Terrible financial decision on my end. Whatever, who cares."

Super Cafe's endeavor mirrors that of another content creator who is camping out at the New York Nintendo Store, waiting for the Switch 2 release. Notably, Super Cafe mentioned he's mostly camping solo but welcomed others interested in joining him in San Francisco to reach out.

As for the practicalities of his extended stay, such as accommodations, food, and showers, Super Cafe plans to address these in a future Q&A, ensuring his followers stay updated on his adventure.

Whether this will trigger a wave of others joining the queues remains to be seen, but the dedication of these creators is evident.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is set to launch on June 5, 2025. For those not keen on camping, our guides on Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders can provide the latest updates, though the ongoing tariffs may complicate matters for buyers in the United States.
