In *Dynasty Warriors: Origins*, you'll be immersed in a thrilling journey through ancient China, wielding your weapon alongside various warlords. As you progress, you'll need to make a pivotal decision on which faction to align with. Here's a comprehensive guide on selecting factions in *Dynasty Warriors: Origins*.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins Factions Explained

The narrative of *Dynasty Warriors: Origins* unfolds over several chapters. In the initial two chapters, your character, known as the Wanderer, remains unaffiliated. You'll interact with the factions led by Sun Jian, Cao Cao, and Liu Bei, participating in key events such as the Yellow Turban Rebellion and the Battle of Hulao Gate.

However, by the time you reach Chapter 3, the game prompts you to make a crucial decision. You must choose a faction by the end of this chapter. By this stage, you should have a good sense of which faction resonates with you, but if you're still undecided, the game provides additional battles to help you make an informed choice.

To move forward, you need to complete specific missions for each faction. To ally with Sun Jian, you must complete three battles; Liu Bei requires two, and Cao Cao asks for just one. Once you've fulfilled the required missions for a faction, a new mission will unlock, forcing you to pick a side. If you've completed a faction's missions, you'll have the option to ally with them during this mission. For example, if you complete Cao Cao's mission first, you'll then choose between him and Liu Bei, with the option to select Liu Bei being unavailable if his missions are incomplete. You can always go back and complete missions for all factions before making your final decision.

Once you make your choice, the faction you don't align with will be locked out for the rest of the game. This means you won't be able to take on sidequests from their officers or increase your bond with them, which might make your chosen path more challenging. For instance, choosing Liu Bei's faction, which has fewer commanding officers, can limit your opportunities to earn skill points through sidequests.

Each route offers unique missions, so if you're eager to experience all that *Dynasty Warriors: Origins* has to offer, consider creating an extra save file before choosing your allegiance. This way, you can reload and explore different alliances.

And that's how you select a faction in *Dynasty Warriors: Origins*. The game is now available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
