Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Developers Considering Switch 2 Port
Says It "Could Be Interesting"
Following the remarkable success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Sandfall Interactive is exploring the possibility of bringing the game to the Nintendo Switch 2. In a recent interview with French YouTuber mistermv on May 2, Expedition 33's Director, Guillaume Broche, discussed the studio's next steps following their successful launch.
Broche remarked that the game's success "changes everything," opening up numerous possibilities for the team. He said, "Well, at this point, considering the success of the game, it kind of changes everything."
When questioned about a Switch 2 release, Broche indicated that the studio is currently evaluating various opportunities. "So clearly, it's too early to say, but we're kind of in a situation where... let's say there are a lot of opportunities showing up - way too many at once - and we're figuring out what we'll go for and what we won't. But yeah, it's definitely something that could be interesting," he elaborated.
With the Switch 2 on the horizon, it makes sense for the year's top-rated game to consider a launch on this highly anticipated console. Fans will need to stay tuned to see if they can experience the Belle Époque-inspired turn-based RPG on Nintendo's latest device.
No Official Merchandise…Yet!
As opportunities flood in for Sandfall Interactive, one notable request from fans has been for official merchandise, particularly an Esquie plush. The studio has yet to release any official merchandise for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and has cautioned fans about counterfeit items circulating online. In a tweet on May 14, they clarified, "To be clear: any third-party websites selling Esquie plushies are NOT officially licensed."
They also warned that many of these unauthorized products feature AI-generated artwork, which Sandfall strongly advises against purchasing due to potential scams. However, the studio is actively working on creating official Esquie plushies.
Their tweet continued, "But here’s the wheee to balance out the whooo: we are looking into making official Esquie plushies, and we want to bring them to you as soon as we can. In the meantime, please be patient — and don’t get scammed!"
The enthusiasm for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 continues to grow, and fans can look forward to official merchandise in the future. The game is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. For the latest updates on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, check out our article below!
