No Man's Sky's Solanium: Gathering, Farming, and Crafting Guide
Many No Man's Sky resources are climate-specific. Solanium, a crucial resource, is only found in certain environments. This guide covers gathering, farming, and crafting Solanium.
Locating Solanium
Solanium is found on hot, arid planets, similar to Frost Crystals' frigid locations. Before landing, use your starship scanner to identify planets with a hot, dry climate (Arid, Incandescent, Boiling, or Scorched). The scanner will also indicate Solanium as a resource.
Once landed, deploy your Analysis Visor to locate Solar Vines – tall, rock-like plants with glowing vines. These are abundant in specific areas. Remember, you'll need a Haz-Mat Gauntlet to harvest them. While there, collect Phosphorus deposits if available; it's a key ingredient in Solanium crafting.
Farming Solanium
After completing the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission, you can farm Solar Vines. Use Hydroponic Trays or Bio-Domes, planting them with 50 Solanium and 50 Phosphorus. Hot planets allow direct ground planting.
Harvesting takes roughly 16 real-time hours.
Crafting Solanium
Several Refiner recipes produce Solanium, most needing Phosphorus (often found on hot planets, or purchased from traders/Galactic Trade Terminals). Here are the recipes:
- Solanium + Phosphorus (to create more Solanium)
- Phosphorus + Oxygen
- Phosphorus + Sulphurine
- Di-hydrogen + Sulphurine
Note: All recipes, including those using Sulphurine, necessitate a visit to a hot planet. A base-located Phosphorus farm is recommended to ensure a consistent Sulphurine supply.
