Final Fantasy XIV's Free Login Campaign Returns!
Square Enix has re-launched its popular Free Login Campaign for Final Fantasy XIV, giving players with inactive accounts a chance to return to Eorzea for four days of free gameplay. This campaign runs until February 6th, 2025, and is available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.
This opportunity arrives hot on the heels of Patch 7.15, which introduced new side quests within the Dawntrail expansion, including the highly anticipated return of the Hildibrand storyline and a fresh Custom Delivery client. Producer and director Naoki Yoshida's recent New Year's message further fueled excitement, confirming the upcoming release of Patches 7.2 and 7.3 in 2025, alongside smaller content updates. Yoshida also teased a cryptic hint about Dawntrail's narrative direction, sparking much speculation among players.
The Free Login Campaign, starting January 9th, 2025, at 3:00 AM Eastern Time and concluding February 6th, 2025, at 9:59 AM Eastern Time, offers up to four consecutive days of complimentary playtime. The 96-hour timer begins upon login via the game launcher. Eligibility requires a purchased and registered Final Fantasy XIV account that has been inactive for at least 30 days prior to the campaign's start. Accounts suspended or canceled due to Terms of Service violations are ineligible.
Square Enix urges players to verify their account status and eligibility through the Mog Station. While the campaign is active, players can participate in the Heavensturn event (until January 16th) to earn a special minion reward. Patch 7.16, releasing January 21st, will conclude the Dawntrail Role Quest side series.
Returning players can use this free period to catch up on the Dawntrail storyline before the arrival of Patch 7.2. The future of Dawntrail in 2025 remains shrouded in mystery, adding to the anticipation.
