Here at Droid Gamers, we review countless gadgets, but a projector was something new. The Formovie Episode One projector caught our attention as an ideal way to stream mobile games on a larger screen.
Positioned as an affordable alternative to typically pricey projectors, the Episode One delivers on its budget-friendly promise—and exceeds expectations, despite some minor drawbacks.
The package includes the projector, remote (batteries not included), power cable, and manual. While it lacks the premium weight of high-end models, its lightweight build (just three pounds) makes it incredibly portable.
Connectivity options are modest, with one USB-A port, one HDMI input, and an audio jack—enough for basic needs but potentially limited for power users. Still, given its price point, this is understandable.
Performance-wise, Episode One impresses for its cost. With 150 ISO lumens, it won’t compete with high-brightness laser projectors but holds its own in darker environments.
Bright sunlight challenged it, as expected, but in dim conditions, it delivered sharp visuals for films, shows, and streamed games.
For optimal viewing, positioning it at least 10 feet away worked best. The built-in speaker produced acceptable audio—functional but noticeably thin—so pairing it with external speakers is recommended.
The streamlined UI stands out as a highlight. Setup was intuitive, proving simpler than some premium projectors with bloated interfaces.
Overall, the Formovie Episode One makes projectors accessible without compromising key features. It won’t dazzle experts but excels as an entry-level option for casual users.
