Hungry Horrors Steam Demo Out Now, Mobile Version Soon

Hungry Horrors, the upcoming quirky roguelite deckbuilder from UK's Clumsy Bear Studio, introduces a refreshing twist to the genre. Instead of battling monsters, players take on the role of a princess tasked with cooking traditional British and Irish dishes to appease the hunger of folklore creatures. The game has recently released its first playable demo, which is now available on Steam, Itch, and GOG.

Following its debut on PC, Clumsy Bear Studio plans to bring Hungry Horrors to mobile and console platforms. Although an official release date has yet to be announced, eager fans can dive into the demo to get a taste of the game's unique mechanics. The developers have been actively engaging with the community, showcasing the game at events like the London Game Festival 2025.

The Steam demo offers a robust preview of what's to come, featuring two handcrafted biomes, six hungry monsters to serve, two boss fights, and four NPCs to interact with. Additionally, there are non-combat zones like the Nook and the Trove, where players can regroup and refine their culinary strategies.

More About Hungry Horrors

In Hungry Horrors, players must master the art of cooking to satisfy a roster of fearsome folklore creatures. From the blood-thirsty swamp witch Jenny Greenteeth to the child-snatching hag Black Annis, each monster has specific culinary preferences that players must cater to. Failing to meet these demands could result in becoming the next course on their menu!

The game cleverly integrates deckbuilding with culinary arts, requiring players to strategically combine ingredients, spices, and herbs to create dishes that align with each monster's taste. As players progress, they'll unlock new recipes, ingredients, legendary artifacts, and even rescued familiars, adding depth and variety to their gameplay experience.

Hungry Horrors stands out with its retro pixel art style and gothic atmosphere, infused with a humorous twist. Players will encounter iconic legends like Grendel and Redcap, each with their peculiar cravings, turning the act of cooking into a thrilling challenge.
