If you're eagerly awaiting the release of inZOI and curious about its approach to sensitive topics like sex and nudity, you're in the right place. The developers of inZOI have recently shed light on these aspects during an engaging "Ask Me (almost) Anything" session on the game’s official Discord channel. This event, translated by Assistant Director Joel Lee, provided fans with a clearer picture of what to expect from the game.
There Will Be "Sort Of" A Sex Feature
As inZOI gears up for its early access launch, fans are keen to understand the inclusion of features related to sex and nudity. During the live segment, Lee addressed these concerns, stating, "Our answer is: sort of. There is a feature in the game that you obviously know what's happening; the male Zoi and the female Zoi are together, likely in bed, with the intention of creating babies. How visually apparent is that? That's where you have to go to your imagination. What you're seeing is not what you're seeing; you have to assume that's what's happening. Is that clear enough for everyone? It's there. Sort of. Maybe not to the level that everyone would have been expecting."
While the statement might be a bit ambiguous, it does confirm that inZOI will include a feature related to sex. However, the visual representation will be toned down to cater to a broader audience. Fans can expect a more realistic approach compared to the more cartoonish style seen in games like The Sims.
Blurring Effects Don’t Work Well With inZOI
Another interesting point raised during the session was why Zois shower with their towels on. The developers explained that pixelated blurring effects, commonly used in games like The Sims, don't mesh well with inZOI's more realistic art style. When attempted, these effects appeared more suggestive than intended. Additionally, a bug during testing allowed players to see Zois without visual effects in the mirror, a problem the team has since addressed.
Making inZOI Available to All
Despite the discussions around sex and nudity, inZOI has secured a T for Teen rating from the ESRB, akin to The Sims 4. This rating ensures the game remains accessible to a wide audience while maintaining a safe-for-work environment. Lee emphasized the team's goal to make the game "widely available to as many age groups as possible."
To keep the community engaged and informed, inZOI's developers have planned a live stream showcase on March 19, 2025, at 01:00 UTC, which will be streamed on their official YouTube and Twitch channels. This event will cover early access pricing, DLC details, and the game's developmental roadmap, along with answering more fan questions.
inZOI is set to launch its early access on Steam on March 28, 2025, and will also be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. While no specific release date has been announced yet, you can stay updated with the latest news on our inZOI page.
