Nintendo to Host Indie World Showcase, Silksong Hopes Rise

Is Hollow Knight: Silksong an indie game? If so, this week's newly announced Indie World Showcase might finally give us our long-awaited glimpse.

Nintendo revealed their upcoming Indie World Showcase airing Thursday, August 7 at 6am PT / 2pm UK time. The 15-minute presentation promises fresh reveals and updates about indie titles heading to both Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Switch.

This showcase arrives shortly after last month's Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase, where Silksong's passionate community faced disappointment yet again. With recent confirmations that Silksong will be playable at Microsoft's Xbox gamescom booth and an Australian museum exhibit in September, hopes remain high for a definitive release date.

Longtime Silksong followers know this familiar cycle all too well. If Thursday brings another no-show, attention will inevitably shift to Geoff Keighley's Opening Night Live during gamescom week.
