Nintendo Unveils Switch 1 Direct Before Switch 2 Event

Nintendo has announced an exciting Nintendo Direct dedicated to the Nintendo Switch, scheduled for tomorrow, March 27th, at 7 a.m. PT. This event will showcase around 30 minutes of upcoming games for the beloved console. It's important to note that Nintendo has explicitly stated there will be no updates regarding the Nintendo Switch 2 during this presentation. Instead, fans can look forward to a separate Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, set for 6 a.m. PT on April 2.

So, what can fans expect from this Nintendo Direct? Despite the imminent release of the Switch 2, Nintendo still has a robust lineup of games for the original Switch. With an impressive sales figure of 150.86 million units, the Switch boasts an enormous audience that developers and publishers, including Nintendo, cannot afford to overlook.

Among the anticipated titles still slated for the Switch in 2025 are Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Professor Layton and the New World of Steam. Additionally, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is expected to hit the Switch later this year. The long-awaited Hollow Knight: Silksong, initially announced six years ago, is confirmed for release on Windows, Mac, Linux, and Nintendo Switch. Given the Switch 2's backward compatibility, fans can expect these titles to be playable on both the current and next-gen consoles.
