Pokémon Go Announces August Community Day Pokémon

With pleasant summer weather in many areas, there's already plenty of reason to head outside. If you need an extra incentive, the upcoming Pokémon Go August Community Day offers a compelling one, especially with newly announced bonuses featuring a certain bird Pokémon.

On August 30th from 2:00 to 5:00 PM local time, Trainers will find Rookidee appearing more frequently in the wild, with an opportunity to encounter its elusive Shiny form. If you've been hoping to add one to your collection, now is the perfect time to join in.

Beyond simply catching Rookidee, those working toward its evolutions are in for a treat. During the event—or until September 6th—evolving a Corvisquire will give you a Corviknight that knows the Charged Attack Air Cutter.

In addition, players can look forward to plenty of extra rewards. A Community Day Special Research story will be available for purchase, and free Timed Research tasks offer more goals to complete. As always, Community Day comes packed with bonus features.

These include 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance, double Catch Candy, three-hour Lure Modules and Incense, extra Special Trades, and reduced Stardust trading costs. You can also expect additional perks and surprise Pokémon appearances when taking snapshots of Rookidee.
