Pokémon Go Is Celebrating New Year’s 2025 with Festive Fireworks and More!

Pokémon Go rings in 2025 with a New Year's event! Niantic is kicking off the new year with festivities, including the New Year's 2025 event, followed by Fidough Fetch and the Sprigatito Community Day. January also brings the Eggs-pedition Access, a month-long paid event ($4.99) offering numerous benefits for Pokémon trainers. Gift limits are also increasing, allowing you to hold up to 40 Gifts, open 50 daily, and collect 150 from PokéStops.

New Year's 2025 Event Details:

While this year's New Year's event (December 30th, 2024, 10:00 am - January 1st, 2025, 8:00 pm) doesn't introduce new Pokémon, Shiny variants, or costumes, there's still plenty to enjoy. Expect to find festive Pokémon in the wild, including Shiny-capable Jigglypuff (with ribbon), Hoothoot (New Year's outfit), and Wurmple (party hat). Bonuses include 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws and celebratory fireworks.

Raids will feature a snowflake-hatted Pikachu (Tier One), and party-hat-wearing Raticate and Wobbuffet (Tier Three), all with increased Shiny rates. Themed Pokémon encounters will also be available through Field Research and PokéStop Showcases.
