Samsung introduced the Galaxy S25 Edge, its latest flagship smartphone, at the May Unpacked event. While closely resembling the Galaxy S25 launched earlier in 2025, its sleeker, thinner profile sets it apart.
The Galaxy S25 Edge mirrors the Galaxy S25 Ultra in performance, powered by the same Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and equipped with a 200MP camera. Its standout feature is the ultra-slim 5.8mm chassis, a significant reduction from the 8.2mm of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, making it lighter at just 163g.
It boasts the same 6.7-inch AMOLED 2X display as the Galaxy S25, despite sharing nearly identical specs with the larger 6.9-inch Galaxy S25 Ultra.
With such a thin and expansive design, durability is a key concern. Samsung has upgraded to Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, claiming superior resilience compared to the Gorilla Glass Armor 2 used in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The real test, however, is whether it can withstand everyday pressures, like being sat on, without bending.
The Galaxy S25 Edge includes the same "Mobile AI" tools introduced with the Galaxy S24 and refined in 2025. The Snapdragon 8 Elite enables robust on-device AI processing for enhanced privacy, though many AI apps still rely on cloud connectivity. Unique features include quick summaries of notifications and news articles for user convenience.
Preorders for the Galaxy S25 Edge are open now, starting at $1,099 for the 256GB model and $1,219 for the 512GB version. It’s available in three colors: Titanium Silver, Titanium Jet Black, and Titanium Icyblue.
Samsung emphasizes the durability of this slender device; time will tell if it lives up to the promise.
