After more than two decades, RuneScape has concluded its longest-running saga with the release of Eclipse of the Heart. This new quest is now available on Android and other platforms. The Desert Saga has long woven together years of lore and ancient prophecies.
It began 24 years ago with the simple mission of rescuing Prince Ali. Over time, it evolved into an epic journey across the desert, leading to a final showdown that will determine the fate of the world.
What’s Happening in the Story?
If you've followed along, you’ve braved scorching dunes, uncovered long-buried truths, awakened forgotten gods, and witnessed betrayals that shifted the balance of power across Gielinor.
Now, as an eclipse darkens the skies above Menaphos, the city trembles beneath the dread presence of Amascut, the Goddess of Destruction. What unfolds next is in your hands—just as it has been in past chapters.
To Begin the Eclipse of the Heart Quest
You must meet several RuneScape requirements. These include reaching level 90 in Necromancy, level 65 in Agility, completing the Pharaoh’s Folly and Do No Evil quests, and having constructed the necessary buildings for the Fort Forinthry storyline.
The quest begins in Menaphos, where Pharaoh Leela awaits to share a plan to stop Amascut before she claims the souls beneath the city. Amascut will arrive as a full boss on August 4th.
What Rewards Does the Eclipse of the Heart Bring?
Completing the quest unlocks a new title and four Stone-Touched XP Lamps, each granting 250,000 XP. You’ll also receive desert-themed cosmetics for your Lorehound, the Amascut’s Eye skybox override, and upgraded Magic Carpet Dust.
Meanwhile, RuneScape is running a major gameplay experiment from July 28th to September 30th. Cosmetic-Free Worlds are part of the ongoing MTX Experiment. These special servers will hide cosmetic effects such as wardrobe overrides, teleport animations, pets, skilling icons, and hitsplats.
