Farewell, SwitchArcade Round-Up readers! This is the final regular column from me. Next week brings a special send-off with a few delayed reviews, but this marks the end of my long run covering the Switch scene for TouchArcade. After several years, and many articles, it's time for me to move on to new endeavors. Let's finish strong with reviews, new release summaries, and sales info.
Reviews & Mini-Views
Fitness Boxing feat. HATSUNE MIKU ($49.99)
Following the Fitness Boxing series' success, including the surprisingly enjoyable Fitness Boxing Fist of the North Star, Imagineer's collaboration with Hatsune Miku felt like a natural progression. I've been testing this alongside Ring Fit Adventure, and I'm impressed. This rhythm-boxing game offers daily workouts, mini-games, and Miku-themed content. Note: Joy-Con only; no Pro Controller support.
The game includes difficulty settings, free training, warm-ups, workout tracking, and customizable rewards. While the music is fantastic, the main instructor's voice is jarring and I found myself muting it. Overall, a solid fitness title, best used to supplement, rather than replace, a complete exercise routine. —Mikhail Madnani
SwitchArcade Score: 4/5
Magical Delicacy ($24.99)
Magical Delicacy blends Metroidvania exploration with cooking and crafting. While the exploration is well-executed, inventory management and UI could use improvement. The game's charming pixel art and music are highlights. The Switch version runs smoothly, with good rumble feedback, but some frame rate inconsistencies were noticeable.
This game has potential; some quality-of-life updates would significantly enhance the experience. Its portability makes it ideal for Switch players. —Mikhail Madnani
SwitchArcade Score: 4/5
Aero The Acro-Bat 2 ($5.99)
A surprisingly well-presented re-release of a 16-bit classic. Ratalaika's emulator wrapper includes extras like box scans, achievements, and a gallery, exceeding expectations. The Super NES version is included (no Genesis/Mega Drive version). A solid platformer, improved over the original.
Fans of the original and those seeking a retro platforming experience will appreciate this release. A commendable effort from Ratalaika. —Shaun Musgrave
SwitchArcade Score: 3.5/5
Metro Quester | Osaka ($19.99)
A prequel to the original, Metro Quester | Osaka feels like a substantial expansion pack, adding a new dungeon, characters, and mechanics. The turn-based combat and top-down exploration remain core elements. Cautious planning is key.
Fans of the original will find this a welcome addition. Newcomers should jump straight to this one. —Shaun Musgrave
SwitchArcade Score: 4/5
