Today's card reveals are part of the "Through the Ages" bonus sheet included in the main set. These are reprints of existing cards featuring concept art and characters from various Final Fantasy games. While they aren't mechanically unique like some of the recently showcased cards or those in the previously revealed Commander decks, their artwork spans the entire series, starting with the very first game.

Releases June 13Final Fantasy - Play Booster Pack
0$7.99 at TCGPlayerUnlike cards from the main set, Through the Ages cards are not legal in Magic's Standard format unless the original card was already legal. Essentially, they serve as alternate art versions of those cards. You can find them in Collector Boosters and in roughly one out of every three regular Play Boosters used for Limited formats like Draft and Sealed.
If you plan to play this set frequently at your local game store or digitally on platforms like Magic: The Gathering Arena, you'll likely encounter these cards often. Five of the six cards are Rares, meaning they appear less frequently, but Thrum of the Vestige is an Uncommon. This card is a reskin of Lightning Bolt, one of Magic's most common cards, and this particular printing could significantly influence the set's dynamics.
The Warrior of Light version of Jodah, the Unifier is also expected to be highly popular. Jodah is a powerful and frequently used Commander, and the artwork is Amano's original Japanese box art from the first Final Fantasy. Similarly, Amano's iconic art for Final Fantasy 4's Cecil Harvey has been adapted for Tymna the Weaver, one of Magic's most potent partner commanders, which has only been reprinted once before.
These cards will be available physically as part of the Final Fantasy set on June 13, with digital versions launching on MTG Arena and MTGO on June 10. Even if you're a Final Fantasy fan who hasn't yet ventured into Magic, there's still reason to be intrigued: FF7 Remake series director Tetsuya Nomura hinted that the design of Sephiroth on one card has been altered for a cryptic reason.
