Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Free Content and Story Updates Planned for a Year

The much-anticipated Assassin’s Creed Shadows has unveiled its year 1 post-launch update roadmap, promising an exciting array of new story drops and an upcoming DLC expansion. Dive in to discover what lies ahead for players in the coming months.

Year 1 Post-Launch Roadmap

Over a month since its release, Assassin’s Creed Shadows (AC Shadows) continues to evolve, with Ubisoft committing to enrich the game through ongoing updates. On May 1, Ubisoft shared their year 1 roadmap on Twitter (X), highlighting new story and gameplay content that fans can look forward to.

A standout feature of the roadmap is the introduction of new Story Drops—free content additions that will enhance the AC Shadows experience. Ubisoft promises, "These new free quests will introduce new player abilities, new allies, new world activities, and provide deeper looks and backstories for some of your favorite characters, each new piece of content expanding on the main game."

In addition to the free content, Ubisoft is gearing up for the release of their first expansion, The Claws of Awaji, slated for later this year. This expansion will transport players to the new region of Awaji Island, accessible post the base game's epilogue. Expect to encounter new enemies, gain new abilities for both protagonists, and wield an exclusive new weapon for Naoe.
