"Avatar: Seven Havens Announced, Post-Korra Events"

It’s official — a new chapter in the Avatar universe is on the way, as Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios unveil Avatar: Seven Havens, a brand-new animated series set to continue the legacy of Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra.

To mark the 20th anniversary of the beloved franchise, original creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko have returned to co-create Avatar: Seven Havens, a 26-episode 2D animated series. The show will follow a young Earthbender who emerges as the next Avatar after Korra, stepping into a fractured world on the brink of collapse.

According to Nickelodeon’s official announcement, Seven Havens is set in a reality "shattered by a devastating cataclysm." The new Avatar, far from being hailed as a hero, is feared as humanity’s destroyer in this turbulent era. Hunted by both human and spirit forces, she must team up with her long-lost twin to uncover the truth behind their origins and protect the Seven Havens — the last surviving strongholds of civilization — before they fall.

In a joint statement, DiMartino and Konietzko shared their excitement: “When we created the original series, we never imagined we’d still be expanding the world decades later. This new incarnation of the Avatarverse is full of fantasy, mystery, and a whole new cast of amazing characters.”

The series will be structured as two 13-episode seasons, titled Book 1 and Book 2, continuing the tradition of dividing the story into distinct narrative arcs. DiMartino and Konietzko are co-creating the show alongside executive producers Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi. While the creative team is firmly in place, the cast has not yet been revealed.

Avatar: Seven Havens marks the first mainline animated series from Avatar Studios, which is also developing a major theatrical film centered on Aang. Set for release on January 30, 2026, the movie will follow an adult Aang on a new, cinematic journey, further expanding the lore of the Avatar world.

As part of the 20th-anniversary celebration, Avatar Studios is launching a wide range of new content and experiences, including original books, comics, live concerts, collectible toys, and an immersive game experience on Roblox — ensuring fans of all ages can celebrate this milestone in meaningful ways.
