Breaking: Spotify Outage Hits Users

Heads up: the popular music streaming service Spotify encountered a significant outage this morning. According to Downdetector, a sister site of IGN, reports of the Spotify outage started pouring in around 6 a.m. PT and continued throughout the morning. We at IGN also experienced difficulties accessing the service. Even when we managed to open the app, it failed to play any music.

Spotify has officially acknowledged the issue and is actively working to resolve it as quickly as possible. The company has also debunked rumors suggesting that the outage was due to a security hack. In their official statement on X, Spotify clarified:

We are aware of the outage and working to resolve it as soon as possible. The reports of this being a security hack are false.
