According to Deadline, Warner Bros.' previously shelved film Coyote vs. Acme may finally make its way to audiences, thanks to ongoing sale negotiations with Ketchup Entertainment, a Los Angeles-based independent film production and distribution company. Although the deal is not yet finalized, a successful negotiation could lead to a theatrical release of the film in 2026.

Coyote vs. Acme, announced in 2022 and inspired by a 1990 Ian Frazier New Yorker article, features a script co-written by James Gunn and stars Will Forte and John Cena. Originally slated for a mid-2023 release on Max, the project was unexpectedly shelved despite being fully completed. Since then, a determined campaign to revive the film has been actively pursued.

Ketchup Entertainment has a history of rescuing films from oblivion, notably saving Warner Bros.' The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie from a similar fate. This intervention allowed the film to secure a theatrical release in the US, marking it as the first fully animated Looney Tunes movie to hit the big screen. IGN's review praised it as a "laugh-out-loud riot."

Ketchup Entertainment's portfolio also includes releases like Hellboy: The Crooked Man and the Robert Rodriguez thriller Hypnotic, starring Ben Affleck, as well as co-producing Michael Mann's 2023 Ferrari biopic.
