Paradox Interactive has unveiled an exciting roadmap for Crusader Kings III with Chapter IV, scheduled for 2025, which will focus on expanding the game's scope into Asia with new mechanics and regions to explore.
The rollout begins with the recently released cosmetic DLC, Crowns of the World. This compact yet elegant pack introduces six crowns, four hairstyles, and two beards, offering players enhanced options to customize their rulers' appearance.
On April 28, the first major expansion, Khans of the Steppe, will launch, allowing players to take command of the Mongols. As the Great Khan, you'll lead a nomadic horde, conquering lands and asserting dominance over neighboring territories.
Next up, Coronations will introduce a new ceremonial mechanic, enabling players to legitimize their reign through grand coronation events. These ceremonies will involve hosting lavish festivities, making solemn vows, and choosing the future path of your kingdom. Additionally, new advisor and vassal events will enrich political interactions. This DLC is set to release in Q3 (July–September), adding depth to royal succession.
The chapter will culminate with All Under Heaven, a massive expansion arriving later in the year. It will feature a comprehensive East Asian map, including detailed representations of China, Korea, Japan, and the Indonesian islands, offering players vast new territories to explore and conquer.
Between these major DLC releases, Paradox will roll out patches to refine game systems and improve AI behavior. The developers are keen on incorporating player feedback to shape future updates, with the next Q&A session scheduled for March 26.
