Owlcat Games is bringing the grim darkness of the 41st millennium back with Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy, their next cRPG following the acclaimed Rogue Trader.

The announcement came during Warhammer Skulls 2025, revealing players will step into the armored boots of an Inquisitor - the Imperium's relentless witch hunters. Here's what awaits:

Descend into darkness as an agent of the Inquisition in Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy, Owlcat's newest narrative-driven tactical RPG set in the beloved grimdark universe. Against the ominous backdrop of the Noctis Aeterna and the enigma of the Tyrant Star, command a ragtag warband of misfits - from loyal Imperial soldiers like a battle-scarred Catachan veteran to shady alien operatives including a cunning Kroot mercenary.

With deep investigative gameplay, tactical turn-based combat, and choices that leave permanent scars, Dark Heresy promises a disturbing journey into the methods of the Imperium's most terrifying organization. Building upon Rogue Trader's foundation, the game features expanded mechanics and fully-voiced dialogue.

The title will launch on PC (via Steam, GOG, and Epic) alongside PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, though release timing remains under wraps.

PlayMeanwhile, Owlcat isn't abandoning Rogue Trader, revealing Lex Imperialis - a major 15-hour story expansion coming June 24, 2025 that plunges players into the uncompromising world of Imperial justice. The DLC introduces the brutal Adeptus Arbites and their cybernetic attack beasts, along with a new companion - the unyielding Solomorne Anthar.

PlaySeason Pass 2 brings even more chaos with two additional expansions. The first whisks players to Trazyn the Infinite's macabre collection of galactic curiosities, while the second ventures into the haunting Processional of the Damned - a graveyard of derelict voidships. Each DLC offers about 15 hours of new story content integrated with the main campaign.
