Chapter 5 Progressing Well

According to creator Toby Fox, DELTARUNE Chapter 5 is "going excellently." In his latest Winter 2025 newsletter, Fox provided a detailed update on the current status of the chapter's development.

As hinted in the ending credits of Chapter 4, DELTARUNE Chapter 5 is expected to launch sometime in 2026. The newsletter confirms that the localization process has already begun, and the team will follow up with professional testing shortly after.

Fox also revealed that the team will start evaluating how the game will perform on console platforms in January 2026. He estimated that Chapter 5 will be released in a few months, though he has not disclosed an exact release date.

Detailed Developments and Musical Tease

Beyond the overall progress, Fox shared deeper insights into the chapter’s creation. He confirmed that all in-game rooms are "more or less complete," with only minor background adjustments left to finalize.

Almost every scene has been finalized, leaving just a few that require additional visual refinement. Most battle sequences are also locked in, with only minor adjustments needed for pacing and bullet patterns.

Additionally, Fox shared a preview of an upcoming soundtrack that will be featured in the game—used by most of the shopkeepers. He concluded by promising that Chapter 5 will "contain hours of fun."
