Ghost of Yōtei PS5 Release Date Announced

PlayStation and Sucker Punch Productions have officially announced the release date for Ghost of Tsushima's sequel, Ghost of Yōtei. On April 23, a new trailer titled "The Onryō’s List" was released, offering a glimpse into the game's story and gameplay. The trailer concludes with the exciting reveal of the release date: October 2, 2025.

Ghost of Yōtei continues the saga with Atsu, set in the heart of Ezo (modern-day Hokkaido), as she embarks on a quest for vengeance against the Yōtei Six, a notorious band of outlaws responsible for the murder of her family. Her mission is to hunt down each member: The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito.

This standalone sequel is set 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima. Earlier this year, Sucker Punch shared insights into the game's new features, including an array of new weapons and mechanics, building on the success of its predecessor.

Hunt Down The Yōtei Six Your Way

Ghost of Yōtei offers players the freedom to hunt the Yōtei Six in any order, crafting a personalized path of revenge. Sucker Punch detailed these features on PlayStation.blog on April 23, shedding light on Atsu’s journey and the game's open-world dynamics.

The game introduces an evolved exploration system, providing more freedom and variety than Ghost of Tsushima. Beyond the main storyline of hunting the outlaws, players can engage in various activities in Ezo. As stated on the blog, "Atsu can also track other dangerous targets and claim bounties, or seek out weapon sensei to learn new skills."

Returning features like the beloved "Guiding Wind" are back, alongside a new mechanic allowing players to build campfires anywhere in the open world. The developers emphasize the freedom to explore and interact with the expansive land of Ezo, with more details to be shared in the coming months.

Pre-orders for Ghost of Yōtei kick off on May 2 at 10:00 AM ET. The standard edition, priced at $69.99, will be available both at retail and on the PlayStation Store. Pre-order bonuses include:
