In *Monster Hunter Wilds*, Sharp Fangs are an essential crafting resource that you can start collecting early in the game. These are particularly useful for crafting beginner-tier gear sets like Chatacabra and Talioth armor. To help you gather these valuable items, here's a detailed guide on how to find and farm Sharp Fangs in the Windward Plains.

To begin your hunt for Sharp Fangs, embark on one of the initial optional quests such as "Beware the Chatacabra" or "The Desert is Demanding." These quests will lead you to the Windward Plains, where you'll have a generous 50-minute time limit to explore. Before setting out, consider cooking and eating a meal to boost your stats.

Once in the Windward Plains, head east to Area 8, the largest area on the map. Here, you'll encounter various smaller monsters, but focus on the following two for Sharp Fangs:

Gaijos

Gaijos are small leviathan monsters resembling crocodiles with unique snouts. You'll find them near or in riverbeds, often solitary. Use the interactive map to locate them by scanning for purple diamonds near water sources. Gaijos are easy to take down with your equipped weapon due to their low health. After defeating a Gaijo, carve its carcass to obtain 1 x Sharp Fang. Gaijos are guaranteed to drop Sharp Fangs, making them a prime target. You can find around four to five Gaijos in the Windward Plains upon entering, and you can re-enter via the optional quests to farm more if needed.

Talioth

Talioths, another source of Sharp Fangs, are bipedal creatures that roam in small packs in Area 8 and sometimes Area 13. While they are slightly tougher than Gaijos, they are still manageable with starter weapons. Carving Talioth carcasses may yield other items like Talioth Scales, but there's also a chance to get Sharp Fangs. Additionally, you can complete the "The Desert is Demanding" quest by killing 8 x Talioths, which aligns perfectly with your farming efforts.
