The return of the classic Call of Duty Prestige system has made the Black Ops 6 XP grind more popular than ever before. Players of recent CoD titles like Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone may have options to accelerate the process. Here’s how to use Legacy XP Tokens in Black Ops 6.

Legacy XP Tokens in Black Ops 6 Explained

Following the Season 01 update for Black Ops 6 and Warzone, many players noticed an abundance of XP tokens available in Black Ops 6 that had not previously appeared. Numerous fans capitalized on this, enjoying a productive day focused on XP, Weapon XP, and Battle Pass progression during Season 01's launch. However, a November 15th update addressed the issue, as Call of Duty's official blog noted, "fixing a problem that incorrectly allowed legacy XP tokens to be activated via the Black Ops 6 UI."

So, what exactly are Legacy XP Tokens, and how did players acquire them? Legacy XP Tokens refer to any unused XP tokens carried over from previous titles accessible through the COD HQ app, such as Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, or Warzone. These earlier games offered various ways to earn XP tokens, including DMZ Missions, Battle Pass Tiers, and special promotions with brands like Little Caesar’s and Monster Energy. Any tokens earned through these methods in the aforementioned games remain usable in Warzone. Here’s how you can apply them in Black Ops 6.

How to Use Warzone XP Tokens in Black Ops 6

As mentioned earlier, during Season 01's launch, players could activate their Legacy XP tokens from Warzone directly within Black Ops 6. For a period, this was no longer possible. Fortunately, a workaround existed that allowed players to use these Legacy Tokens to boost XP, Weapon XP, and Battle Pass progression in Black Ops 6.

Thankfully, the process was relatively simple. If you had Legacy XP Tokens available in Warzone, you could activate them there. After activation, switching to Black Ops 6 would display the token and its countdown timer in your user interface. The main drawback was the need to navigate between menus, and since XP Tokens count down in real time, timing was important. Nonetheless, this method provided a valuable boost for faster leveling in Black Ops 6.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone are available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
