While playing Citizen Sleeper 2, it's almost inevitable that your dice will sustain damage at some point. This guide will walk you through the mechanics of repairing them so you can return to making successful rolls and progressing through the story.

Why Dice Break in Citizen Sleeper 2

The primary cause of dice damage is Stress. As you play, Stress accumulates—especially when you fail skill checks or enter the “Starving” condition. The higher your Stress level, the greater the chance your dice will break. Each die can endure up to three damage points before it becomes non-functional and requires repair.

How to Repair Dice in Citizen Sleeper 2

Although dice may break early in the game while you're still on Hexport, you won’t be able to repair them until you reach Far Spindle. There, you’ll eventually meet a character named Bliss, who unlocks the Rig Workshop aboard your ship. Whenever you're not actively on a Contract, you can access the Rig Workshop to repair damaged dice. You’ll have two repair options: Improvised Repair and Dice Repair.

Improvised Repair vs. Dice Repair

• Improvised Repair costs 2 Scrap Components. It fixes one damaged die, but increases your Glitch meter, raising the likelihood of future glitched dice.

• Dice Repair requires 1 Rare Component. While these components are harder to obtain, this option adds significantly less to the Glitch meter, making it the safer long-term choice.

Ideally, use Dice Repair when possible. However, Improvised Repair is a viable alternative if Rare Components are scarce. Later in the game, Rare Components become more accessible, so there’s little need to hoard them.

Can You Repair Glitched Dice?

Glitched dice impose a fixed 20% chance of success and an 80% chance of failure, severely impacting gameplay. While there is no direct in-game repair option for glitched dice, a narrative event—specifically after completing the “Diagnose Your Frame” story drive—will repair one glitched die. This offers a crucial recovery point, ensuring that glitched dice aren’t permanent setbacks.
