Leaks Excite Battlefield Fans; EA Yet to Respond

Despite EA's efforts to keep details of their upcoming untitled Battlefield game under wraps through Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), leaks have still surfaced online. These leaks include dozens of videos and screenshots from players involved in the closed playtesting, showcasing various aspects of the game.

As previously reported, the leaked footage supports the modern setting that Vince Zampella had hinted at, setting it apart from other entries in the Battlefield series. A quick browse through the Battlefield subreddit reveals numerous firefights, glimpses of the game's destructible environments, and new gameplay mechanics such as the ability to hang off vehicles and drag wounded teammates to safety.

Surprisingly, EA has taken a relatively relaxed approach to these leaks. Typically, game publishers are quick to issue takedowns for leaked early footage due to concerns over incomplete animations, unfinished user interfaces, and subpar graphics. However, despite players breaching their confidentiality agreements, EA has not yet acted to remove the content.

This leniency might be influenced by the positive reception the leaks have received, in contrast to the lukewarm reception of Battlefield 2042. Fans have expressed enthusiasm for what they've seen so far. One player commented, "I am scared to say that but this game is shaping up very damn well. I hope there are no catches…" Another added, "The animations of the weapons moving around while running / doing anything look better than 2042 to me." A third player exclaimed, "Dude, even in a pre-alpha state, the explosions, bullets, and projectiles whizzing by, buildings crumbling down, dust kicking up. This has so much potential!" Someone else opined, "I can't get over how good the sounds and the destruction look at alpha."

EA anticipates launching their next Battlefield game within the fiscal year 2026, which spans from April 2025 to March 2026. Following the first official unveiling just last month, it's confirmed that the new Battlefield will feature a return to a traditional, single-player, linear campaign, a feature that was notably absent in the multiplayer-focused Battlefield 2042, much to the delight of fans.
