Epic Games Store is giving away a new free mobile game, and this time it's Machinarium. You can claim it for free from August 28th through September 4th, 2025. This offer is available to Android users globally.
Machinarium is an acclaimed point-and-click adventure, celebrated for its hand-drawn art and story told without words. Originally launched in 2009, it was developed by Amanita Design, the studio also known for Samorost, Botanicula, and Chuchel.
What Is the Gameplay Like?
Machinarium stars Josef, a small robot with a dome-shaped head who starts his adventure after being thrown out in a scrapyard. After putting himself back together, he journeys to the city of Machinarium, a rusty and fabled metropolis populated by eccentric robots.
Josef soon uncovers the Black Cap Brotherhood, a gang of rogue robots causing trouble, and is framed and imprisoned. His simple escape plan turns into a grand mission to save the city's leader, rescue his girlfriend Berta, and thwart the Brotherhood's schemes.
The game offers a mix of brainteasers, logic puzzles, mini-games, and even occasional chores like crafting a new hat for Josef. Characters don't use spoken words; instead, they express themselves through comic-style thought bubbles and expressive animations.
Every background and character was individually hand-drawn in 2D. The distinctive visuals are complemented by a moody soundtrack from Floex, who also composed the music for Samorost 2.
