Master the Dual Outfit Technique in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered!

This guide details how to combine the benefits of two outfits in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, enhancing your gameplay experience. Note that this is a feature exclusive to the remastered version.

Remastered Version Required:

The ability to leverage the effects of two outfits relies on the transmog feature introduced in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. This allows you to retain the stats of one outfit while visually wearing another.

Outfit Requirements:

This technique has limitations. While your primary outfit can be any you prefer, your secondary (transmogged) outfit must be one of the following Banuk Werak outfits, obtained from the Frozen Wilds DLC:

  • Banuk Werak Runner
  • Banuk Werak Chieftain
  • Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (New Game+ only)

Access to the Frozen Wilds is not contingent on completing the main game.

Acquiring the Banuk Werak Outfits:

Banuk Werak Runner:

Locate a Bluegleam Merchant (marked with a blue merchant icon) within the Frozen Wilds after defeating the initial machine guarding the area. Purchase the Banuk Werak Runner outfit using the following resources:

Resource Normal Cost Ultra Hard Cost
Metal Shards 1000 5000
Desert Glass 10 20
Slagshine Glass 10 20

Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept:

Complete the "For the Werak" quest (the third main quest in Frozen Wilds DLC) to obtain the Banuk Werak Chieftain outfit. Consider lowering the difficulty if needed. The Adept version is acquired the same way, but only in New Game+.

Combining Outfit Effects:

Follow these steps:

  1. Equip your primary outfit: Choose the outfit with the desired stats, potentially enhanced with Weaves.
  2. Transmog: Use the transmog feature to apply the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits.
  3. Benefit from both: You retain your primary outfit's stats while gaining the auto-healing effect of the Banuk Werak outfit. The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept offer significantly faster healing than the Runner.

This strategy, particularly when combined with an outfit like the Shield Weaver, creates a highly resilient character. The auto-healing will compensate for infrequent damage taken.
