In Freedom Wars Remastered, you can equip two weapons of your choice before starting an Operation. With six weapon categories available, you can freely combine them to create a character build that matches your preferred playstyle.
Some of these six weapon types feature special effects when charged. They are divided into three ranged and three melee weapons, all fully customizable. Below we break down the six main weapon types and their unique characteristics.
Every Weapon Type In Freedom Wars Remastered
There are six weapon types in total. You can acquire new weapons by completing Operations or buying them from Zakka store in The Warren. While you can't choose your Comrades' weapons, you can freely customize your Accessory's gear. Changing weapons—whether for yourself or your Accessory—can be done anytime, with no penalty for frequent switches or continued use of the same gear. The six weapon types are:
Weapon Type
Traits
Light Melee
Delivers rapid strikes suited for agile playstyles and focusing on single targets.
Can sever Abductor limbs without requiring a Flare Knife.
Heavy Melee
Performs sweeping attacks that inflict heavy damage.
Well-aimed strikes can hit multiple Abductor limbs, dealing multiplied damage as if landing several hits.
Charged attacks can launch you into the air at the end of a combo.
Slightly reduces movement speed when equipped.
Polearm
Most attacks allow you to lunge through enemies, helping you evade incoming attacks.
Charged attacks let you throw the polearm for powerful ranged damage.
Assault Weapons
High total ammo capacity makes them ideal primary weapons for firearm-oriented builds.
Can be fired while grappling with your Thorn, enabling improved shooting angles or safer positioning.
Portable Artillery
High single-shot damage but limited overall ammo capacity.
Fires explosive area-of-effect shots capable of damaging multiple limbs simultaneously.
Reduces movement speed when equipped.
Autocannons
Rapid rate of fire with generous ammo reserves and large magazine size.
Though individual shots are low in damage, the high fire rate compensates effectively.
Slows movement speed when equipped.
Unlike the player, your Accessory does not consume ammo when using firearms.
