System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster launches on June 26, 2025, developer Nightdive Studios has announced.
The modernized version of the beloved 1999 sci-fi horror action RPG is set to release on PC and, for the first time, on consoles. It will be available on Windows PC via Steam, GOG, the Epic Games Store, and the Humble Bundle Store, as well as on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
Nightdive Studios rebuilt System Shock 2 for modern platforms using its proprietary KEX Engine. Expect enhanced visuals, refined gameplay, improved performance, cross-play co-op multiplayer, and full mod support—along with other contemporary gaming features.

Here’s the official blurb on System Shock 2:
Set 42 years after the events of the first System Shock, antagonist SHODAN and her army of merciless mutants infest the starship Von Braun. As he unravels the horrifying mystery aboard the derelict vessel, he’ll need to sharpen his upgradeable skills and wield powerful weapons and psychic abilities to survive SHODAN’s monstrous creations—and endure her narcissistic god complex.
