Microsoft Unveils Xbox Game Pass April 2025 First Wave

Microsoft has unveiled an exciting lineup of Xbox Game Pass titles set to join the service in the first half of April 2025, featuring a mix of first- and third-party games that are sure to keep subscribers engaged. The list includes highly anticipated titles such as South of Midnight, Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition, and Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition, among others.

A recent Xbox Wire post detailed this robust April lineup, with the first wave of games starting to roll out on April 3. The month kicks off with Gearbox Software's Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition, available across Cloud, Console, and PC platforms for all tiers. Joining it on the same day are All You Need Is Help (Console), Still Wakes the Deep (Xbox Series X | S), and Wargroove 2 (Console), all accessible through Game Pass Standard. This initial batch promises plenty of gaming action, but the excitement doesn't stop there. Just five days later, on April 8, subscribers can dive into Compulsion Games' folklore adventure, South of Midnight (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X | S), and Blizzard's Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition (Console and PC) for all Game Pass tiers.

South of Midnight, set in the Deep South, is poised to be one of Xbox's major releases of the year. Microsoft's description highlights its unique appeal: "Explore the mythos and confront mysterious creatures of the Deep South in this modern folktale while learning to weave an ancient power to surmount obstacles and face the pain haunting your hometown." This game's addition to Game Pass is expected to draw in a large number of players eager to experience its rich narrative and gameplay.

The following days bring more titles to the service. On April 9, Commandos: Origins (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X | S) will be available for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. Blue Prince (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X | S) will join the lineup for the same tiers on April 10. Wrapping up the first wave of April releases, Hunt: Showdown 1896 (PC) will be added for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers on April 15.

In addition to new games, Xbox Game Pass perks are also receiving a refresh for the first half of April 2025. Highlights include the Beyond the Void Bundle for The First Descendant, the Sweet Starter Pack for Candy Crush Solitaire on mobile devices, and the Seventh Serving Emote for Sea of Thieves fans, celebrating the game's anniversary.
