Nintendo has revealed the pricing details for upgrading two additional Switch games — Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Super Mario Party Jamboree — to their Switch 2 versions, and the costs are surprisingly high.
While upgrades for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom cost $9.99 each, NintendoLife reports that both Kirby and Super Mario Party upgrades require more than double that amount.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Enhanced Edition of Breath of the Wild features enhanced graphics and smoother performance, in-game achievements, and compatibility with the new "Zelda Notes" service in the Nintendo Switch Online app. Existing owners can access these improvements through a $10 upgrade pack.
The Switch 2 version of Kirby and the Forgotten Land introduces new Star-Crossed World story content. Super Mario Party Jamboree offers Jamboree TV features, utilizing Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, the Switch 2 microphone, and an optional USB-C camera. Both games support 1440p resolution in TV mode, improved frame rates, additional minigames, and enhanced online capabilities.
While US pricing remains unconfirmed (potentially due to tariff uncertainties), the UK Nintendo eShop lists the Kirby upgrade at £16.99/€19.99 - significantly higher than the £7.99/€9.99 charged for the Zelda titles.
The Super Mario Party Jamboree upgrade follows the same pricing pattern, suggesting a $19.99 US price point. This premium may relate to the $79.99 standalone pricing for both Switch 2 editions, which is $20 above their original Switch versions ($59.99 each).
US pricing for standalone Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games:
Kirby and The Forgotten Land - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star Crossed World - $79.99
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - $69.99
Super Mario Party Jamboree - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV - $79.99
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - $79.99
Note that Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can upgrade both Zelda titles at no additional cost. Currently, no similar promotions exist for Kirby or Mario Party upgrades.
