A Perfect Day Pocket – Go Back to 1999 is a new Android release from Littoral Games. Fans of their earlier titles, Growing Up and Chinese Parents, will find the same comforting atmosphere here. The art style closely resembles Growing Up, featuring hand-painted watercolor visuals that vividly tell the story on their own.
During launch week, A Perfect Day – Go Back to 1999 is priced at $1.99 from February 27th through March 5th. After that, the Android version will cost $2.99. Pre-registered players can collect a Panda Quake Mini 4WD by visiting Brother Cao at the Youth Palace. A limited-time Easter egg, the Old Uniform, is also available in 'My Bedroom' until March 26th.
What Is the Story of A Perfect Day – Go Back to 1999?
As the name implies, you travel back to 1999, a specialty of Littoral Games. They excel at crafting nostalgic tales set in the 90s and early 2000s. In this game, you experience the final day of 1999 through a time-loop narrative puzzle.
A Perfect Day – Go Back to 1999 includes seven time segments, eleven main characters, twenty event cards, and one free DLC. You play as an elementary school student trapped in a time loop, reminiscent of Groundhog Day.
The repeating day is December 31st, 1999—the last day of the year. Throughout the loop, you discover secrets about classmates, friends, and family while striving to help everyone achieve their 'perfect day.'
Repeat, Revisit, and Rewrite
The game explores themes of memory, regret, and choice. You can reconnect with childhood friendships, delve into the lives of young parents, and make decisions that influence the storyline. The narrative is interconnected, offering varied outcomes as you relive the same day.
A Perfect Day also features several mini-games, like Mini 4WD racing, a Gamicom console, and an arcade, capturing the essence of 90s gaming. With interactive storytelling and nostalgic visuals, this game is well worth experiencing.
