PlayStation State of Play Announced for Tomorrow, September 24

Sony has announced a PlayStation State of Play livestream set for tomorrow, September 24, at 2pm Pacific / 5pm Eastern / 10pm UK time, featuring over 35 minutes of new updates and reveals.

The broadcast lands squarely in the middle of Tokyo Game Show week, just days before Sucker Punch’s highly anticipated exclusive, Ghost of Yotei, launches on PlayStation 5 on October 2. We’ll likely see more of it then.

Sony’s announcement today includes a five-minute preview of Saros, the upcoming title from Returnal studio Housemarque. But what else is in store? Sony confirmed the State of Play will showcase updates on major titles from third-party publishers—perhaps another look at Resident Evil: Requiem?—alongside fresh details on its own first-party lineup.

It’s hard not to expect new information on Marvel’s Wolverine, which has remained unusually quiet since Insomniac Games first revealed its development back in September 2021. Since then, hints about its progress have emerged only through unofficial channels, like Insomniac’s high-profile 2023 hack and reports that creative director Brian Horton left the project last year to join Xbox’s now-canceled Perfect Dark.

PlayStation fans are also eagerly awaiting an update on Naughty Dog’s Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. After all, creative director Neil Druckmann has now returned to the game full time following his work on The Last of Us TV series.

As always, IGN will be covering all the announcements live as they happen—join us then!
