Pokémon Go set to host new High Zaptitude event to mark Wattrel\'s debut

• Pokémon Go is preparing to launch an all-new event to celebrate Wattrel’s arrival
• High Zaptitude will include both free challenges and paid timed research tasks
• Collect event-themed Pokémon and exclusive rewards throughout mid-January

With 2026 now underway, it's the perfect time to look ahead. Or at least toward the end of this month. Naturally, Pokémon Go is delivering exciting incentives to step outside into the fresh (albeit chilly) air!

To celebrate the debut of a new fan-favorite Pokémon, Wattrel, players can dive into the High Zaptitude event running from January 13th through January 18th. As usual, this will be available in both free and paid versions, offering rewards for everyone.

For those joining the free version, you'll enjoy an increased encounter rate for Shiny Tadbulb alongside Global Challenges featuring special prizes. Team up with other trainers to earn rewards ranging from 2x XP to 2x Stardust on hatched Pokémon, plus more bonuses.

Go Go Go

As always, Pokémon Go provides fantastic events that encourage you to leave the house. For dedicated trainers looking to expand their collection, there's also the paid timed research option. While free Field Research tasks grant event-themed Pokémon, the ticketed research rewards players with incubators and Tadbulb encounters.

While Wattrel may not yet rival Pikachu in mainstream popularity, I'm confident that newer fans will be thrilled by its debut. Bundle up against the January cold and join the High Zaptitude event!
