"Rambo Origin Film Announced by Sisu Director"

Rambo fans, get ready for a thrilling return to the franchise with a new prequel project titled "John Rambo," directed by Jalmari Helander, known for his work on "Sisu" and "Big Game." According to Deadline, Millennium Media is currently showcasing the film at the Cannes market, a key event during the Cannes Film Festival where upcoming projects seeking funding or distribution are presented to potential investors. Millennium Media, a powerhouse behind the Expendables and Has Fallen series, previously brought us "Rambo" in 2008 and "Rambo: Last Blood" in 2019.

While details about the plot of "John Rambo" remain under wraps, we know it will be set during the Vietnam War, serving as a prequel to the iconic 1982 film "First Blood." Casting has yet to be finalized, and although Sylvester Stallone, the original Rambo, is aware of the project, he is not currently involved.

The screenplay for "John Rambo" has been crafted by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani, known for their work on "The Mauritanian" and "Black Adam." Filming is set to commence in Thailand in October. Given Helander's proven track record with the action-packed "Sisu," which transformed the John Wick formula into a WWII setting with an elderly Finnish commando battling Nazis, expectations are high for this new addition to the Rambo saga.
