"Schizophrenic Fan Inspired by Arkham Knight, Receives Kevin Conroy

In 2020, a fan of Batman: Arkham Knight living with schizophrenia reached out to Kevin Conroy, the iconic voice of Batman, through the Cameo service. The fan, deeply moved by the game's narrative of Batman overcoming fears, paranoia, and hallucinations, saw a reflection of his own struggles with the illness. He shared his story with Conroy, expecting a standard 30-second message in return. However, Conroy was touched by the fan's message and instead delivered over six minutes of heartfelt encouragement.

The video became a lifeline for the fan during some of his darkest moments. He later shared on Reddit how Conroy's words had saved him from suicide multiple times. The fan explained, "This video has saved me from suicide countless times. Hearing Batman say he believed in me was incredibly powerful... But as time went on, it became just as important that it was Kevin himself who believed in me."

Initially hesitant to share the video publicly, the fan decided to post it after learning that Conroy had a brother who also suffered from schizophrenia. He hoped it would offer inspiration to others facing similar challenges. He stated, "If someone in his family asks me to delete this video, I will of course do so. But it has inspired me in my toughest moments, and maybe it will inspire someone else. Hang in there. Because Batman believes in you."

Tragically, Kevin Conroy passed away on November 10, 2022, at the age of 66. Yet, his legacy and the profound impact of his words continue to resonate with millions around the world.
