The halls of Xavier’s Institute are buzzing once again in Marvel Snap, and this time, it's the New X-Men who are shaking up your matches. The card battler's May season is themed around a fresh class of rising stars, ready to transform the meta. Leading the charge is the newest addition, Esme Cuckoo, a telepathic clone of Emma Frost who has no patience for rules or hesitation. Her On Reveal effect pulls a card from your deck, tweaks its cost to three with four Power, and hands it to you like a loaded psychic grenade.
But Esme is just the beginning. Each week, a new Series 5 mutant will join the card pool, each bringing a unique twist to your matchups. You’ll find yourself juggling cost reductions, copycat tactics, and resurrection tricks as you incorporate characters like Surge, Prodigy, Elixir, and Xorn into your strategies. Don’t miss out on Captain Carter’s seasonal pack, making a return for those who missed it previously.
The new locations this month, Pit of Exile and Genosha, promise to shake things up as well. Pit of Exile forces leaner builds and smarter sequencing by shutting down big power plays before they can start. Genosha, on the other hand, sets the stage for dramatic final turns by clearing all but your most expensive card at the buzzer. Both locations are poised to flip the script on your usual deck compositions.

Outside the arenas, there’s more to chase. Marvel Snap is set to release three new collection albums this month. The first, launching on May 8th, is a collaboration with Penny Arcade, featuring Mike Krahulik’s unique variants. This will be followed by a chibi-themed collection from Rian Gonzales on May 15th, and a disco-themed dance fest on May 30th, spotlighting Deadpool, Spider-Man, and Dazzler in groove-worthy variants.
