Assassin’s Creed Shadows Delayed Again

Assassin's Creed Shadows' Release Date Pushed Back to March 20, 2025

Ubisoft has announced another delay for the highly anticipated Assassin's Creed Shadows, moving the release date from February 14, 2025 to March 20, 2025. This five-week postponement follows a previous three-month delay from the original November 2024 launch.

The publisher cites the need to integrate player feedback as the reason for this latest shift. While the initial delay in September 2024 was attributed to development challenges concerning historical accuracy, this time, Ubisoft emphasizes its commitment to delivering a polished and immersive experience based on player interaction. Marc-Alexis Coté, vice president executive producer of the Assassin's Creed franchise, stated that the extra time will allow for further refinement and polishing.

This second delay, much like the first, aims to enhance the game's quality. The September announcement included pre-order refunds and a free expansion offer to appease fans. Whether similar compensation will be offered for this shorter delay remains unannounced.

The timing of the delay might also be connected to Ubisoft's internal investigation into its development practices, launched to improve player-centricity and address recent disappointing sales figures. Integrating fan feedback into Assassin's Creed Shadows could be a direct result of this initiative.

Key takeaway: Assassin's Creed Shadows is now slated for release on March 20, 2025.
