Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & White Guardian ditches gacha! This upcoming spin-off, announced by Koei Tecmo Europe on November 26, 2024, will offer a refreshing change from its mobile predecessor.

No More Gacha!
Unlike Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator, this new title will not feature a gacha system. This means players won't be forced into a pay-to-win scenario, eliminating the need to grind or spend money to progress.

The announcement also highlights offline playability, eliminating the need to interact with the mobile game. A new story and protagonists await in the familiar world of Lantarna, promising a fresh experience.
Launching on PS5, PS4, Switch, and Steam in 2025, Koei Tecmo has yet to confirm pricing and a precise release date.
A Look Back at the Mobile Gacha System
The mobile version, Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator, is a mainline Atelier game incorporating a gacha system.

While retaining core Atelier elements like synthesis and turn-based combat, the mobile game uses a gacha mechanic to unlock and strengthen characters. A "spark" system (different from a pity system) rewards players with medals for each pull, allowing them to acquire characters or Memoria (illustration cards).
Released in January 2024 on Steam, Android, and iOS, the mobile game received mixed reviews on Steam but generally positive ratings on mobile platforms (4.2/5 on Google Play and 4.6 on the App Store). The expensive gacha mechanic was a significant point of contention for some Steam players.
