Dune: Awakening experienced a brief downtime earlier today as Funcom rolled out a hotfix aimed at improving server stability and resolving several issues that emerged following the game's "head start" launch for early access players on June 5.
At the top of the fix list was an enhancement to "server stability," though no specific technical details were provided. Additionally, a helpful pop-up notification has been implemented to inform players that servers listed under the "Private" tab in the server browser are externally managed. (Want to know more about what’s included—and what’s not—when you rent a private server? We’ve got you covered.)
Here's a breakdown of the other bug fixes included in this update:
Dune: Awakening – June 6 Hotfix 11.0.5 Patch Notes
- Resolved an issue where certain player base placeables’ menu would fail to load if the player rapidly switched between tabs using the Q and E keys.
- Fixed a bug causing some players to be shown a suggested server that wasn’t the closest within their region.
- Addressed a problem where players could become trapped inside the Imperial Testing Station #002 boss room by removing the pentashield doors.
- Corrected an issue where NPCs in the Arrakeen social hub occasionally became stuck in place.
Funcom noted that while some fixes will take effect immediately, others may require scheduled downtime—so be sure to watch for official in-game announcements for further updates.
We haven't had the opportunity to publish a full review of *Dune: Awakening* just yet, but we did get extended hands-on time during the closed beta phase. “As a longtime fan of Dune, it feels incredibly rewarding to explore and immerse myself in a world I deeply admire. Funcom has clearly invested significant effort into crafting a rich, lore-filled experience—even while taking creative liberties by setting *Awakening* in an alternate reality,” we noted in our IGN preview of the Dune: Awakening closed beta impressions.
“There are small, thoughtful design choices that make a big difference in gameplay. Without giving too much away, this level of detail permeates nearly every aspect of the game—from factions to characters—which should be a delight for any Dune enthusiast.”
