Mastering Mount Acquisition in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
The vast open world of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 can initially feel overwhelming. Efficient travel is key, and that means acquiring a horse. This guide outlines two methods: reclaiming your original steed and stealing a horse.
Reclaiming Pebbles
You can retrieve your starting horse, Pebbles, from the horse trader in Semine (south). However, he won't simply hand her over. You'll need to either pay him Groschen, persuade him, or intimidate him. Success with persuasion depends on Henry's appearance and reputation. In one playthrough, wearing finer clothing (obtained by working with Radovan) facilitated a free retrieval, albeit at a slight reputational cost. If persuasion fails, payment is necessary.
Stealing a Horse
Alternatively, you can steal a horse. Wild horses are rare. Instead, target farms or stables. A good location is the farmhouse near Vidlak Pond (west), where fishermen keep two horses. Simply mount one and ride away.
To properly saddle and tame your stolen horse, visit the horse trainer at the Nomads' Camp (east of Vidlak Pond). A fee is required for his services, but you can also ride the horse unsaddled.
