The highly anticipated Infinity Nikki and its multiplayer-focused 1.5 update have finally hit Steam, but the launch has been overshadowed by a cascade of issues. After months of exclusivity on the Epic Game Store, fans were eager to dive into the stylish dress-up adventure from Infold Games. However, the excitement quickly turned to frustration as players encountered a range of technical problems, from game crashes to overall instability. In addition to these technical woes, players were taken aback by unexpected design changes and the demanding requirements for new outfits.
Amidst the chaos, Infold Games issued an apology and promised compensation to affected players. Yet, the situation remains tense as the community continues to voice their concerns over the game's direction.

The launch of Infinity Nikki on Steam was met with enthusiasm, but that quickly turned into disappointment as players struggled with technical issues that prevented them from even launching the game. While such problems are not uncommon at game launches, the community's frustration extended beyond performance issues. The introduction of two new five-star outfits, Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember, each requiring 11 pieces, caught players off guard. This means potentially up to 220 pulls to complete a set, a significant increase from what players were accustomed to, sparking fears of escalating requirements in future updates.
Adding to the confusion, Infold extended the Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event from two to three weeks. This sudden change, coupled with ongoing technical issues and perceived aggressive monetization strategies, prompted a strong reaction from the Chinese player base. Using social media platform RedNote, they initiated a movement that quickly spread globally, urging players to boycott Infinity Nikki on Steam, leave negative reviews, and uninstall the game across all platforms.
"Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players," Reddit user kiaxxl emphasized in a call-to-action post. This strategy targets the game's early performance metrics, which are crucial for gacha games, to send a clear message to Infold about the community's expectations.
The backlash has had a noticeable impact, with Infinity Nikki currently holding a "Mixed" rating on Steam. Players are using negative reviews to warn newcomers about the game's current state and to push for changes.
In response, Infold issued an apology letter across their official channels, acknowledging the technical issues and promising to address them. The letter also included reassurances about future communication and adjustments, along with compensation for players in the form of 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds. Despite these steps, some players remain unsatisfied, particularly with the decision to maintain the 11-piece requirement for new outfits.

While some see Infold's concessions as a victory, others are still pushing for further changes, particularly regarding the drop rates and the high number of pulls required for new outfits. The community's efforts have already led to some positive outcomes, but the call to keep up the pressure remains strong.
I wish you would finally change the drop rate.. it can't be that I need 200 pulls to get a 5star and then you drop like 5 banners within weeks?! Make the rate lower or give us more diamonds to be able to get crystals.. this is not fun!

As Reddit user EdensAsmr pointed out, accepting the current 11-piece outfits could set a precedent for future updates, potentially making it even harder for players to keep up with new content. The community is determined to ensure that Infinity Nikki remains enjoyable and fair for all.
