Warhorse Studios has just rolled out a significant free update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II—version 1.2. This exciting patch brings two major enhancements to the game: seamless mod integration via Steam Workshop and a fresh barber shop system for players to enjoy.
The integration of mods through Steam Workshop streamlines the process, allowing players to download and install mods directly within the game, without the hassle of third-party platforms. However, this feature relies on mod creators uploading their work to Steam Workshop. Currently, the selection is modest but includes intriguing options such as:
- Free Saving: This mod replenishes the "Saviour Schnapps" item every time it's used or lost, granting players unlimited saves.
- Helmet of Henry VIII: Adds a unique horned helmet inspired by historical designs.
- Tourist: Disables NPC reactions to trespassing, enabling access to otherwise restricted story locations.
- Pebbles the Zebra: Transforms your horse into a zebra with a striking visual effect.
While the initial mod offerings are limited, the modding community is poised to grow quickly. With over a thousand mods already available on Nexus Mods, it's likely that many creators will soon share their work on both platforms. Though Steam Workshop might not match Nexus Mods in scale, it's anticipated that popular mods will soon be accessible there.

Alongside mod support, players can now head to NPC barbers in Rattay and Kuttenberg to customize their hairstyle or beard. Any chosen style will temporarily boost the protagonist's Charisma stat, adding a strategic element to personal grooming.
Update 1.2 extends well beyond these additions, as detailed in the comprehensive changelog available on the game’s official website. Warhorse Studios has implemented over a thousand fixes and improvements across various game aspects, including balancing adjustments, refined animations, and enhanced NPC behavior. For example, the crime system has been fine-tuned for more precise interactions.
Other notable updates include:
- Revised daily schedules for NPCs, enhancing realism in their routines.
- Enhanced horse riding mechanics and improved horse trading systems.
- Improved character visuals and overall performance, particularly noticeable in Kuttenberg—the largest city in the game—and during large-scale battles.
Warhorse Studios plans to explore these changes further during a developer livestream scheduled for next Thursday. The studio remains dedicated to the game’s ongoing support, with three paid DLC expansions slated for release in spring, summer, and winter.
With the addition of Steam Workshop integration, new cosmetic options, and numerous gameplay enhancements, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II continues to evolve, providing players with an increasingly immersive medieval experience.
