Your adventure kicks off right in the heart of town, across from the Gun Store and Hospital and in front of the Trading Hut. Start by ditching any unnecessary loot and gearing up. A Rifle is your best bet here—it's only $75 and packs enough punch to fend off most foes for a bit. Once you're armed, don't forget to stock up on coal to keep your boat's old-school engine running.

The next town is 10,000m away, so fire up your boat and set sail. You can stop to take out Zombies and Drowned along the way, but it's not really worth it as the houses don't hold much value. To keep the boat moving, just add more coal. Don't let the worm on the right side spook you. Wait until you reach the second safe zone to sell your goods, but keep an eye out for Big Foot and Zombie mobs on both sides of the river.

After the second safe zone, you'll encounter burning buildings teeming with mobs. If you're with friends, it might be worth clearing them out, but solo players should avoid wasting time due to unpredictable spawn points. Around 12,000m, you'll find a castle-like house filled with Drowned, but also stocked with Shotgun ammo and other valuable loot. Use it wisely.

By now, you're familiar with the routine—kill, loot, repeat, and hope for the enemy's defeat. That's the essence of the gameplay loop. To master it, focus on efficiency. Use your boat as your primary inventory, emptying your bag onto it to save time and space.

A crucial tip for this Dead Sails Kraken guide is stacking Zombies near the incinerator. While it's tempting to rush out of these towns, efficient loot stacking will pay off. Running low on fuel? Just toss a few Zombies into the incinerator, and you're set.

Another helpful tip is to keep an eye on what's happening in Sheriff's offices. They often house a higher concentration of mobs, but also offer significant rewards in terms of weapons and ammo. I managed to keep my shotgun stocked by having a friend clear the ground floor for me as we explored each town.

Don't squander your ammo, weapons, fuel, and medkits before reaching the fortress at around 25,000m. It's still under construction, making it a hotspot for ambushes. I recommend tackling it with at least three others, ideally a full team of five. Be efficient when collecting loot here.

Similarly, avoid engaging Big Feet past 30,000m. They're incredibly tough and require a lot of ammo to take down safely. Don't linger too long; prioritize strategic stops. Remember, not all loot is worth the risk.

The town after 50,000m is one of my favorite farming spots. With at least two dozen Drowned and Zombies, it's ideal for groups armed with Shotguns or Sawn-offs. It's also a great place to gather corpses for fuel, so coordinate with your team to have bodies ready for loading as soon as possible.

How to Defeat the Kraken Boss in Dead Sails

Before facing the Kraken, sell everything you have in the final safe zone and stock up on ammo, weapons, and medkits. Don't go easy on the Zombies and Drowned; ensure you have at least 8-10 corpses for fuel during the final leg of this Dead Sails Kraken guide. You're almost at the finish line. At around 100,000m, you'll reach open waters and be ready to confront the beast. The sign of its arrival will be the darkening skies.

As the Kraken emerges from the water, EVERYONE MUST TARGET a tentacle. The boss has a lot of health, and each tentacle can attack and cause damage if not repelled. If you have five players, form a pentagram-like shape and tackle your own tentacle.

Be cautious of the water splash ability, which deals AoE damage and is signaled by the Kraken winding back its tentacle, creating a water trail. Use medkits generously, as some damage is unavoidable.

Lastly, watch out for the Roar AoE, which inflicts minor damage but is unblockable and may slightly boost the boss's damage. You'll recognize it by the white concentric circles emanating from the tentacle that used the ability.
