Pokémon GO’s Final Strike: GO Battle Week will Debut Urshifu and Gigantamax Machamp

As the Might and Mastery season in Pokémon GO draws to a close, the excitement ramps up with the Final Strike: GO Battle Week. Scheduled to begin on May 21st, 2025, and run until May 27th, this week marks the culmination of your journey with Kubfu, leading to its evolution into the legendary Urshifu. You have the opportunity to evolve Kubfu into two distinct forms: the Single Strike or Rapid Strike style, each dependent on your battling strategy.

To unlock the Single Strike style, you'll need to set Kubfu as your buddy and defeat 30 Dark-type Pokémon in raids or Max Battles. For the Rapid Strike style, the challenge remains the same but shifts to 30 Water-type Pokémon. This Final Strike: GO Battle Week provides the perfect window to achieve these goals and see Kubfu transform into Urshifu.

In addition to battling, a Special Research storyline continues the seasonal narrative, available until June 3rd, 2025. Completing this research will reward you with Kubfu Candy, Mysterious Components, and encounters with themed Pokémon, including Charcadet featuring a Special Background, enhancing your Pokémon GO experience.

May 25th Is a Special Day

Mark your calendars for May 25th, as it's the Gigantamax Machamp Max Battle Day. From 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, you can participate in six-star Max Battles featuring Gigantamax Machamp's debut. This event comes with additional bonuses to make the most of your battles.

During the event, you'll need to travel only one-fourth the usual distance to earn Max Particles. The storage cap for Max Particles increases to 1,600, and all Power Spots will host Gigantamax Battles. You'll also receive 8× Max Particles from these battles and have the opportunity to make two extra Special Trades.

Don't overlook the chance to collect Max Mushrooms. These items temporarily double the damage of your Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokémon. You can use multiple Max Mushrooms to extend the duration, though the power boost remains constant.
